Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The substance EDTMP-H (and its analogues) are known to be highly hydrophilic and extremely water-soluble. Although supplier's literature is much less detailed than laboratory study reports, given the range of values expected for these types of substance, the uncertainty is not significant in respect of environmental exposure or human health exposure modelling. Typical concentrations of aqueous solutions in commercial supply provides weight of evidence of high loadings. Average water solubility in the range 400 - 460 g/l was determined for commercial solutions of the substance.

Phosphonate salts are highly water soluble and are supplied as aqueous solutions. Free acids are less soluble than the salts; however, aqueous solutions in excess of l % active material can be prepared. The aqueous salts are miscible in water. A water solubility value of 21000 mg/l was reported for the parent acid in a secondary source to which no reliability could be assigned.
