First-aid measures

-Inhalation:
In case of inhalation of dust or fume, terminate exposure immediately and move to fresh air. Contact a physician.
Corrosive to the respiratory system
- Ingestion: If conscious, drink a lot of water. Contact a physician.
- Skin: Wash the skin with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops.
- Eyes: Rinse eyes with large amounts of water, including eyelids. Get medical attention if irritation develops.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media: dry sand, CO2
- Extinguishing media not to be used: water
- Special exposure hazards: This material is very toxic to aquatic organisms. Fire water contaminated with this material must be contained and prevented from being
discharged to any waterway, sewer or drain
- Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: fire-fighters should wear proper protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions: Avoid creating dust. Wear approved respirators (type P2 or P3) when exposed to dust or fume.
- Environmental precautions: prevent the material from spilling to the surface waters.
- Methods for cleaning up: collect spilled product for reuse, preferably by vacuuming. Avoid dusting.

Handling and storage

- Handling: Avoid contact with skin. Avoid generating dust or fumes. Avoid breathing fumes or dust. Wear approved respirators if adequate ventilation is not possible.
- Storage: Store dry. Ventilate if possible. Make sure the material does not spill to the environment. Keep container tightly closed.
- Additional information : evolves hydrogen on contact with water

Exposure controls
-Occupational Exposure controls : Use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to keep airborne levels below recommended exposure limits. If user operations generate Dust, fume or mist, use ventilation to keep exposure to airborne contaminants below
The exposure limit.
-Respiratory Protection : Use a properly fitted, particulate filter respirator complying with an approved standard if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary. Respirator selection must be based on known or anticipated exposure levels, the hazards of the product and the
safe working limits of the selected respirator.
-Skin protection : Chemical-resistant, impervious gloves or gauntlets complying with an approved
-Hand protection standard should be worn at all times when handling chemical products if a risk Assessment indicates this is necessary.
Personal protective equipment for the body should be selected based on the task being performed and the risk involved and should be approved by a specialist before handling this product.
-Eye protection : Safety eyewear complying with an approved standard should be used whe a risk Assessment indicates this is necessary to avoid exposure to liquid splashes, mists or Dusts.
-Hygiene measures:
General information: Eating, drinking and smoking should be prohibited in area where this material is handled, stored and processed. Workers should wash hands and face before eating, drinking and smoking.

Stability and reactivity

The product is a strong reductant and reacts heavily with oxidants in normal circumstances.
-Conditions to avoid: Contact with water or strong oxidants. (evolves hydrogen on contact with water) Reactive with acid, alkalis, moisture.
-Materials to avoid: Reaction with water and acids forms hydrogen (danger of explosion) and toxic and corrosive fumes of hydrogen chloride.
-Hazardous decomposition products: Upon heating, a toxic fume of lead and zinc compounds may occur. In contact with water, hydrogen and/or hydrogen chloride may be formed.

Disposal considerations

- Methods of disposal : The generation of waste should be avoided or minimized wherever possible. Avoid dispersal of spilled material and runoff and contact with soil, waterways, drains and sewers. Disposal of this product, solutions and any by-products should at all times comply with the requirements of environmental protection and waste disposal legislation and any regional local authority requirements.
- European waste Catalogue (EWC) : Not available
- Hazardous waste : The classification of the product may meet the criteria for a hazardous waste
