Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with water and continue washing for

several minutes. Obtain medical attention if discomfort

persists

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with soap and water.

Obtain medical attention if discomfort persists. Wash

clothing befor re-use.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: If patient is fully conscious, give two glasses of water.

Induce vomiting. Obtain medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Alcohol-resistant foam

Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Dry chemical

Do not direct a solid stream of water or foam into hot,

burning pools: this may cause frothing and increase fire

intensity.

Cool closed containers exposed to fire with water spray.

Product arising from burning: Burning can produce the following combustion products:

Oxides of carbon, oxides of sulfur, oxides of silicon

Protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wipe or soak up spilt substance with an inert absorbent.

Carefully transfer it to waste containers which must be

tightly closed and labelled according to TRGS 201.

Dispose of according to local regulations.

While taking up the spilt material and cleaning the polluted

area avoid skin and eye contact as well as inhalation of the

substance by wearing appropriate personal protective equip-

ment (see section 'Handling').

Handling and storage

Handling: All working methods must always be designed so that exposure

by skin contact is minimized. Eye contact and, if possible,

inhalation of the substance should be avoided.

As far as possible, closed equipment should be used during

filling, transfer and metered feeding as well as during

sampling.

In the case of handling the substance in open systems, extract any vapours or aerosols which might form, directly at

the point of origin.

The wearing of respiratory protection is recommended in case inhalative exposure is possible.

To avoid any skin contact, tested protective gloves and, if applicable, suitable protective clothing have to be worn.

The wearing of eye protection (e.g. safety goggles) is recommended.

Adequate washing facilities should be provided in the immediate vicinity of the working area.

After contact with the skin, the affected parts of the body

should be thoroughly cleaned instantly using soap and water.

Special skin-protection and skin-care measures are recommended.

Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the

product.

A skin-protection plan should be drawn up.

Storage: Store the substance in the original packing drums or other

secure containers which are labelled according to the regulations. Keep them tightly closed and secure them against

falling by taking the appropriate measures.

Avoid residues on the outside of the containers.

Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.
