Additional information
Biodegradation in water :
2-Naphthalenol, 1-[[4-(phenylazo)phenyl]azo]-, ar',ar''-Me derivs is 50% biodegradable in water in 180 days (half-life) indicating 2-Naphthalenol, 1-[[4-(phenylazo)phenyl]azo]-, ar',ar''-Me derivs is not readily biodegradable in water since the half life is more than the threshold of 40 days qualify the chemical as persistent.

Biodegradation in water and sediment: According to PBT Profiler , Half life period of 2-Naphthalenol, 1-[[4-(phenylazo)phenyl]azo]-, ar',ar''-Me derivs, in water is observed to be 4320hrs (180 days) while in sediment it is 38400hrs (1600 days). Based on these half life values it is concluded that the chemical 2-Naphthalenol, 1-[[4-(phenylazo)phenyl]azo]-, ar',ar''-Me derivs., is non biodegradable in both water as well sediment. Thesubstance will qualify as persistent as the half life exceeds the criteria of 40 and 120 days for water and sediment respectively.

Biodegradation in soil: The EPI Suite has estimated that 2-Naphthalenol, 1-[[4-(phenylazo)phenyl]azo]-, ar',ar''-Me derivs. is expected to be found predominantly in soil and its persistence estimate is based on its availability in this medium. Half-life of 2-Naphthalenol, 1-[[4-(phenylazo)phenyl]azo]-, ar',ar''-Me derivs. in soil was estimated to be 8640 hrs. (360 days) which exceeds the criteria of 120 days. Therefore, 2-Naphthalenol, 1-[[4-(phenylazo)phenyl]azo]-, ar',ar''-Me derivs. is estimated to be persistent in the soil environment.
