Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

adsorption / desorption: screening
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the physicochemical properties of the substance indicate that it can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption
Justification for type of information:
Bromide ions are known not to strongly adsorb to soil particles. This property is utilised through the employment of bromide ions as tracers in soils (Levy B.S. et al., 1987; Smith S.J. et al.,1974; Germann P.F. et al., 1984). Therefore the Koc is assumed to be very low and an adsorption /desorption screening study is not required.
