Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The vapour pressure is estimated less than 0.18 Pa at 25 °C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The value of vapour pressure is estimated based on the study reports of mixture ''Sulfuric acid, mono-C12 -14-alkyl (even numbered) esters, sodium salts'', '' Sulfuric acid, mono-C12 -18 -alkyl (even numbered) esters, sodium salts'' and ''sodium dodecyl sulphate C12'' and EPIWIN estimation for each constituents.

According to the theoretical principle of Raoult’s law, the vapour pressure of mixture is equal to the mole-fraction-weighted sum of the components' vapour pressures:

ptot= ∑ pixi

The vapour pressure of mixture should be lower than the vapour pressure of the component which has the highest vapour pressure in its pure form.

Therefore the vapour pressure of ''Sulfuric acid, mono-C12 -16-alkyl (even numbered) esters, sodium salts'' should be lower than the vapour pressure of ''sodium dodecyl sulphate C12''.

The estimated values for two other read-across substances, as well as EPIWIN estimations for single components, were also taken into account in the weight of evidence approach. The most reliable upper limit of vapour pressure is the one determined for "sodium docecyl sulphate".
