Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties
Justification for type of information:
In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, explosive properties doe not need to be investigated as the substance does not contain any chemical groups associated with explosivity (chemical groups as described in ECHA Guidance R.7a, Table R.7.1-28).

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Executive summary:

Explosive limits: 2% lower, 95% upper, by volume in air, according to ACGIH 1991 (quoted by IARC) and Sax's Dangerous Properties (quoted by HSDB) - or: 2.4% lower, 20% upper, by volume in air, according to GESTIS. However, this relates to confined vapors, for which there is no classification method.

The substance does not present chemical groups related to explosive properties based on ECHA Guidance R7a, and neither the substance itself nor the related compounds hydrazine and 1,2-dimethylhydrazine are classified as explosives.

Overall, it is considered as non explosive.
