Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The adsorption / desorption of the cyanuric chloride was estimated by calculation of the log Koc with EPIWIN software using KOCWIN. A log Koc value of 1.902 was calculated.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
79.8

Additional information

In accordance with Column 2 adaptation statement of REACH Annex VIII and IX, adsorption/desorption screening and further studies on adsorption/desorption, information requirements 9.3.1 and 9.3.3, may be omitted since the log Kow value for the test substance is <3.0 (CSR sections 1.3 and 4.2.1) and has low potential for adsorption. The log Kow for cyanuric chloride was calculated with the ACD/Log D Suite program to be 2.14. The log Koc value was calculated to be 1.902 based up on the log Kow using KOCWIN.

- In a supporting study (2012-0184-DKB) using a QSAR method a log Koc of 2.54 (at 25 °C) was calculated.

In the supporting study (2012-0400-DKB) the log Koc of 1,3,5-triazinane-2,4,6-trione (CAS no.: 108-80 -5) was estimated to be 0.74 using a QSAR method.

- In the supporting study (2012 -0402 -DKB) the log Koc of 2,4,6-trichloro-1,3,5-triazine (CAS no.:108-77-0) was estimated to be 5.4 using a QSAR method.

Cyanuric chloride hydrolysed rapidly in water. Thus the test item can be considered that it is unlikely to have potential for adsorption / desorption.
