Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Substance is a hydrocarbon UVCB. Test results for biodegradation in water are used for classification. For the purpose of risk assessment, this endpoint is characterized using quantitative structure property relationships for representative hydrocarbon structures that comprise the hydrocarbon blocks. The environmental risk of this substance is assessed using the PETRORISK model (see Product Library in PETRORISK spreadsheet attached to IUCLID Section 13).

In a read-across supporting biodegradability study, an other lubricant base oil, Solvent Neutral 600 Base Oil (MRD-94 -981), was determined to be inherently biodegradable but not readily biodegradable with a mean degradation of 31.13% by day 28 (Exxon, 1995a).

In a read-across supporting biodegradability study, an other lubricant base oil (GOHC 1468) was determined not to be readily biodegradable when it attained 2 to 4 % degradation within 28 days (BP Limited International, 1990).
