Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
Study was conducted between 8 June 2010 and 10 June 2010
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: GLP compliant guideline study.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
25 February 2009
Remarks on result:
other: No self-ignition observed

No exothermic activity was observed during the test. On completion of testing the sample was observed to be unchanged.

Conclusions:
Mixed Ash is not self-ignitive.
Executive summary:

Self-ignition properties of Ash were studied in a GLP laboratory according to Comission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008, Method A.16. No exothermic activity was found during the heating in a temperature programmed oven. Thus, Ash is not auto-flammable.

Description of key information

Self-ignition properties were studied in a GLP laboratory according to Comission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008, Method A.16. Ash was not found to be auto-flammable.
