First-aid measures
Description of necessary first-aid measures & Most important symptoms/effects, acute and delayed:
General advice:
Under the shower: Take off immediately all contaminated clothing (including shoes).
Inhalation:
Move patient from contaminated area to fresh air. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Keep under medical surveillance. In case of problems : Hospitalise.
Skin contact:
Wash off immediately with plenty of water. Keep under medical surveillance. In case of extensive burns, hospitalize.
Eye contact:
Wash well-open eyes immediately and abundantly with water for at least 15 minutes Remove contact lenses. Consult an ophthalmologist immediately.
Ingestion:
Do not induce vomiting, rinse mouth and lips with plenty of water if the subject is conscious, then hospitalize.
Protection of first-aiders:
Protective suit Inhalation of vapours due to decomposition of product: Wear suitable respiratory equipment.
Indication of immediate medical attention and special treatment needed, if necessary:
No data available.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Foam, Water mist, dry chemical, Carbon dioxide (CO2)
Unsuitable extinguishing media: Water jet.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Flammable liquid, Thermal decomposition giving toxic products, Thermal decomposition giving flammable and irritating products:, Alcohols, Carbon oxides, Nitrogen oxides, titanium oxides, At high temperature (decomposition):, Closed containers of this material may explode when subjected to heat from surrounding fire., Vapours may form explosive mixture with air.
Advice for firefighters:
Specific methods:
Evacuate non-essential staff and those not equipped with individual protection apparatus. Cool containers / tanks with water spray. Suppress gases, fumes and/or dust with water spray jet. Do not permit water to enter containers. Ensure a system for the rapid emptying of containers. Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.
Special protective actions for fire-fighters:
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Evacuate non-essential staff and those not equipped with individual protection apparatus. Prohibit contact with skin and eyes and inhalation of vapours. Prohibit all sources of sparks and ignition - Do not smoke. Ensure adequate ventilation. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Wear personal protective equipment.
Environmental precautions:
Do not allow contact with soil, surface or ground water. Do not let product enter drains.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
Methods for cleaning up:
Contain spillage, soak up with non-combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and transfer to a container for disposal according to local / national regulations (see section 13). Nonsparking tools should be used.
Recovery:
Ensure adequate ventilation. Rinse with water.
Elimination:
Recover waste water for processing later. Destroy the product by incineration (in accordance with local and national regulations).
Reference to other sections: None.
Handling and storage
- Precautions for safe handling:
Technical measures/Precautions:
Storage and handling precautions applicable to products: Liquid. Corrosive. Flammable. Wear personal protective equipment. Prohibit contact with skin and eyes and inhalation of vapours. Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms. Provide self-contained breathing apparatus nearby (for emergency intervention). Well ventilate empty vats and tanks before entering. Provide water supplies, ocular fountains and showers near the point of use. Provide waterproof electrical equipment. Provide electrical earthing of equipment.
Safe handling advice:
Use product only in closed system. Keep container closed when not in use. Avoid splashing when handling. Clean up puddles of product immediately. Keep away from heat, sparks and flames. Only use safety equipment. Keep away from water.
Hygiene measures:
When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Prohibit contact with skin and eyes and inhalation of vapours. Wash hands after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas.
- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Do not smoke. Provide electrical earthing and waterproof equipment. Keep in a well-ventilated place. Store protected from moisture. The floor of the storage area should be impermeable and contained within a bund. Do not permit any leak. Store only in original containers. These containers should only be used for this product. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.
Do not store above: 40 °C
Incompatible products:
Acids, Oxidizing agents, Water, Oxidizers.
Packaging material:
Recommended: High density polyethylene (HDPE)
- Specific end uses:
The substance must be handled under strictly controlled conditions as defined in Article 18(4) of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006.
