OTHER TEST CONDITIONS
- Photoperiod: 16 h light / 8 h dark

TEST CONCENTRATIONS
- Test concentration: 100 mg / l
Reference substance (positive control):
no
Duration:
96 h
Dose descriptor:
LC100
Effect conc.:
> 100 mg/L
Nominal / measured:
nominal
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Basis for effect:
other: behaviour, body length and weight
Details on results:
No mortalities or sub-lethal effects of exposure were observed for the test concentration of 100 mg / l.
Reported statistics and error estimates:
The above result refers to nominal concentration as a direct relationship between measured TOC values and C-containing components of the test substance (= benzene amine) which cannot be assessed quantitatively. On the other hand, in aqueous solutions benzene amine reacts to benzene aldehyde. As both components have nearly identical molecular weights, the TOC values, fairly constant throughout the test period, reflect rather constant exposure rates of the sum of both chemical bodies, benzene amine and benzene aldehyde, respectively.

Executive summary:

The acute toxicity of the substance (benzylamine)trifluoroborone was investigated according to EU Method C.1 in compliance with GLP. Brachydanio rerio (Zebra fish) was used as test organisms and where exposed for 96 hours to the test substance. A control was included, no reference substance is mentioned. It was a static freshwater test with a temperature range of 22.1 °C - 22.4 °C (control: 21.9 °C - 22.4 °C) and a pH range of 7.4 - 7.6 (control: 7.5 - 7.7) and a substance concentrations of 100 mg/L. Direct weighing was the method of administration with a 16 hours light / 8 h dark cycle during the test period. As result a LC 100 of > 100 mg/L is reported.
