Administrative data
First-aid measures
4.1 Description of first aid measures
General information:
As in all cases of potential poisoning, seek medical advice and show this safety data sheet or the label.
In case of inhalation:
HARMFUL and IRRITANT to the respiratory tract. Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Consult a doctor in case of respiratory difficulty, unease or persistent headaches.
In case of skin contact:
HARMFUL, IRRITANT, SENSITISING. Remove contaminated clothes. Flush skin with soap and plenty of water.
If irritation appears, obtain medical advice. Wash contaminated clothing before re-use.
In case of eye contact:
IRRITANT. Irrigate copiously with water for at least 15 minutes including under the eyelids. Do NOT allow water to flow into the uncontaminated eye. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.
In case of ingestion:
HARMFUL. Rinse mouth with water and spit out. Do not give anything to drink or eat, and do not try to make vomit without medical advice. Call a POISON CENTER/doctor/get medical advice/attention/…/if you feel unwell
Self-protection of the first aider:
No specific precautions.
4.2 Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Serious eye irritation if eye contact. Serious skin allergic reaction (eg eczema) may occur on sensitized people. Skin irritant, some inflammatory reaction can appear at contact point
Potentially irritant for the respiratory tract and irritant for the nose.
4.3 Indication of immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
No specific data available. Symptomatic treatment.
Watch for delayed symptoms of respiratory difficulty.
Fire-fighting measures
5.1 Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media:
Dry powder, carbon dioxide, alcohol-resistant foam or water mist extinguishers should be used.
Unsuitable extinguishing media:
Water jet is not recommended.
5.2 Special hazard arising from the substance or mixture
No specific hazardous decomposition products known (release of carbon oxides expected).
5.3 Advice for fire-fighters
The substance is not flammable and no additional self-reaction, explosive or oxidising hazard are anticipated.
Avoid inhalation of smoke and fumes. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment.
Move undamaged containers from immediate hazard area if it can be done safely, or use water spray jet to protect personnel and to cool endangered containers.
Accidental release measures
6.1 Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
For non-emergency personnel:
Take back unnecessary people.
As general protective measures:
Adequate protective gloves and half mask should be worn when handling spillages. No smoking. Avoid naked flames or other potential sources of ignition (e.g. electrical equipment).
Individual washing routines should be followed after any potential contact.
Ensure adequate ventilation in working areas following accidental releases.
For emergency personnel:
Refer to section 8 for recommended PPE.
6.2 Environmental precautions
No particular measures required. As a general rule, prevent entry into drains. Avoid contamination of surface waters, ground waters and soil.
6.3 Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
6.3.1 For containment:
Gross liquid spillages have to be contained by the use of sand or inert powder. If the product turns solid, contain by a cover. Do not reuse. Do not reintroduce into the original container. Collect into a suitable and labelled container. Treat as waste, disposal of this should be in accordance with Government Regulations.
Cover drains to prevent entry of the product in the sewer system. Avoid contamination of natural environment (soil, waters).
6.3.2 For cleaning-up:
Collect with a shovel and/or by sweeping and place into a suitable container for waste. Residues can be rinsed with water and discharged to drains for onsite wastewater or domestic sewage treatment.

7.1 Precautions for safe handling
7.1.1 Protective measures
Measures to prevent fire:
As a general rule, avoid any sources of ignition, and avoid exposing to high temperature during processing. The substance is not classified for physical hazards; therefore no specific prevention measures apply for identified uses.
Measures to prevent aerosol and dust generation:
Work processes must be designed to keep exposure to a minimum. Maintain adequate local and general ventilation where product is handled.
7.1.2 Advice on general occupational hygiene
HARMFUL, IRRITANT to the eyes and skin, SENSITISER, IRRITANT to the respiratory tract.
Wear appropriate protective clothes and adequate gloves (see S.8). Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace.
Wear eye/face protection. Wash hands and face thoroughly after handling.
Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/ spray. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.
Observe the usual precautions for handling organic chemicals.
Good personal washing routines should be followed. Wash hands before breaks and after work.
When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Avoid breathing vapour and spray.
7.2 Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
It is good general practice to store in closed, in a well-ventilated place, preferably full, properly labelled, containers away from heat sources, and protected from extremes of temperature. Keep container tightly closed. Do not re-use the empty container.

8.2.1 Appropriate engineering controls
Work processes must be designed to keep exposure to a minimum. Maintain adequate local and general ventilation where product is handled and dispensed.
8.2.2 Personal protection
From Qualitative Assessment:
- Eye protection: IRRITANT. Wear safety goggles (conforming EC EN 166)
From general recommendations of safe working practices:
- Respiratory protection: HARMFUL, IRRITANT to the respiratory tract. Wear chemical cartridge respirator with A-type filter (EN 143) if no well-ventilated area.
- Hand protection: HARMFUL, IRRITANT, SENSITISING Wear suitable protective gloves tested to EN374 (e.g. nitrile, butyl, Teflon®)
- Skin protection: HARMFUL, IRRITANT, SENSITISING Wear protective clothing and chemical resistant boots. Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace.
8.2.3 Environmental exposure controls
Fulfil commitments under Community environmental protection legislation.
Avoid discharge into the environment.
Stability and reactivity
10.1 Reactivity
No hazardous reaction anticipated in case of contact with air or water (based on chemical structure and experience in handling and use).
10.2 Chemical stability
When stored under standard temperature, the substance is stable. Stability in organic solvents not expected to be critical.
10.3 Possibility of hazardous reactions

10.4 Conditions to avoid
Direct sources of heat and light.
Do not heat closed containers.
Avoid contact with oxidizing agents.
10.5 Incompatible materials

10.6 Hazardous decomposition products
Contact with water or storage under recommended conditions for one year should not produce dangerous decomposition products.
Disposal considerations
Product: Considered as hazardous waste according to Directive 2008/98/CE on waste. The product should be handled according to the instructions given under sections 6, 7 and 8. Dispose of according to local or national regulations. The product should not be allowed to enter drains or the environment.
Contaminated packaging: Empty packaging should be disposed according to local or national regulations by an approved waste handling. Minimize release to the environment
End-product: For the identified uses, if the substance is discharged to domestic sewage treatment plant, no onsite wastewater treatment is required. Refer to the ES annexed for details.
