- no
Results and discussion
Effect concentrations
- Duration:
- 96 h
- Dose descriptor:
- EC50
- Effect conc.:
- > 10 mg/L
- Nominal / measured:
- nominal
- Conc. based on:
- test mat.
- Basis for effect:
- mortality (fish)
- Remarks:
- exceeding solubility
- Details on results:
- - Other adverse effects control: One fish had haemorrhage of the gills.
Any other information on results incl. tables
- Sublethal observations / clinical signs:
Chemical analysis revealed that due to the very low solubility of the test material in water and interference of compounds present in tap-water with the analysis, no detectable levels of the test material could be recorded. Therefore it was decided not to perform analysis of test concentration during the final test.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Conclusions:
- Under the conditions of this study the 96 hour LC50 in rainbow trout was greater than the saturated concentration of the test material when tested as an oversaturated solution of 10 mg/L.
- Executive summary:
Ten fish per concentration were exposed for 96 hours in a static system to an oversaturated concentration of 10 mg/l of the test material in tap-water. After 96 hours of exposure no mortality was observed, The 96 hour LC50 in rainbow trout was greater than the saturated concentration of the test material when tested as an oversaturated solution of 10 mg/L.
