Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air.  if breathing is difficult or ceases,

give oxygen or mouth to mouth resuscitation.  Keep warm and

at rest.  Obtain medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash thoroughly with water and continue for at least 15

minutes.  Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and launder before re-use.

Thoroughly wash all affected areas with soap and water. Seek

immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Dry powder or water

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may include oxides of carbon,

nitrogen and sulfur.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing should be worn at all times.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.

Avoid dust formation.  Absorb spillages of solutions with a

suitable inert material (eg. sand or oil).  Carefully

transfer the spillage to waste containers or use a sealed

industrial vacuum machine.  Containers filled with waste

material must be labelled in the same way as the original

substance containers.

Clean the spillage area with water and detergent.  Avoid

washing spillages to the drain.

Dispose of waste material in accordance with local

regulations by incineration.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be handled in enclosed plant fitted

with suitable exhaust ventilation.  Adequate protective

equipment must be worn.  Protective equipment must be

decontaminated after use.

Storage: The substance should be stored in clearly labelled, securley

closed containers in a cool, dry area.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Single polythene bags inside fibre board kegs.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance is used as an intermediate in chemical

synthesis. Recovery is not feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No chemical treatment is practicable to neutralise the

hazardous health properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: There will be no discharge of the substance by landfill.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning

under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment

processor in accordance with local regulations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged directly to

the sewage system or the aqueous environment.  All waste

with the potential to contain the substance will be treated

biologically before release.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.
