Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: If dust is inhaled, move subject to an area of fresh air,
loosen clothing and rest. If signs of distress or
discomfort, seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If
irritation develops, seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected areas with soap and water. Remove any
contaminated clothing and wash with detergents before
re-use. If irritation develops, seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, foam, carbon dioxide and chemical powder
extinguishing agents may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may include oxides of carbon.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, see 2.3.1. Sweep up and
collect in a suitably labelled container and dispose of as
chemical waste. Avoid the generation of dust. The area may
be flushed with water, avoiding run-off into water courses
or drainage systems other than those leading to treatment
facilities.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observeethe usual precautions for handling organic
chemicals. Protective coveralls, gloves, safety goggles and
a dust mask should be worn. Avoid the generation of dust.

Storage: Store in sealed containers in a cool, dark place.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Small containers, typically 5, 10 or 25 kg, suitable for
solids.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None reported.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: As the substance is an organic powder there is a potential
risk of explosion following ignition of the dust under
certain circumstances. Precautions should be taken to avoid
the generation of build-up of dust and to ensure that there
are no sources of ignition, or static discharge.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance is incorporated into polymeric films during
use. Once incorporated in this way, it is not possible to
recycle.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Solid waste may be disposed of by deep landfill at a
suitable facility (A650).

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incinerate at a suitable facility (A660).

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will only enter the public domain as a bound
component of a polymer. Recovery is not feasible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous properties.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: The cardboard articles containing the substance in a bound
form may be disposed of as normal domestic waste.
