Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
If inhaled: If breathed in, move person into fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
In case of skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash off with soap and plenty of water. Immediate medical treatment is necessary as untreated wounds from corrosion of the skin heal slowly and with difficulty.
In case of eye contact: In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.
If swallowed: If large quantities of this material are swallowed, call a physi-cian immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or car-bon dioxide. Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local cir-cumstances and the surrounding environment.
Unsuitable extinguishing media: High volume water jet
Specific hazards during fire-fighting: Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.
Special protective equipment for firefighters: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: Use personal protective equipment. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Environmental precautions: Prevent product from entering drains.
Methods for cleaning up: Soak up with inert absorbent material. Sweep up and shovel into suitable containers for disposal.
Handling and storage
Advice on safe handling: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Use only with adequate ventilation/personal protection.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Normal measures for preventive fire protection.
Hygiene measures: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Wash hands before eating, drinking, or smoking.
Requirements for storage areas and containers: Store in original container. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.
Advice on common storage: No special restrictions on storage with other products.
Specific use(s): Surfactant
