Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

- Guideline:
- EU Method A.17 (Oxidising Properties (Solids))
- GLP compliance:
- no
- Contact with:
- powdered cellulose
- Sample tested:
- test mixture (not specified)
- Remarks:

- Parameter:
- maximum burning rate
- Result:
- 0.1 other: mm/s (migrated information)
- Remarks on result:
- other: Mixture samples : cellulose 10:90 to 30:70
- Interpretation of results:
- other: no oxidising properties

- Executive summary:
In the non-GLP Klimisch 1 study from Bütfering the oxidizing properties of Aspartic acid, N-(3-carboxy-1-oxo-sulfopropyl)-N-(C16-18 (even numbered), C18 unsaturated alkyl) tetrasodium salts were determined according to EU Method A.17 (Oxidising Properties (Solids)). Prior to testing the test material was grinded and mixed with cellulose. The mixtures of 10 to 30 % sample : cellulose exhibited a very slow combustion in all cases. After 5 minutes and a distance of up to 30 mm the test was aborted. The sample mixtures of 40 to 90 % sample : cellulose showed no progression of the flame after igniting and an immediate extinction of the flame.
Therefore it can be concluded the test item has no oxidizing properties.
