Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

“For the determination of the auto-ignition temperature read-across is usually not possible. However interpolation may still be possible within homologous series.” [ECHA Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment, Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance, Version 3.0, August 2014]
Even if different cesium salts do not fit in the concept of homologous series, there are values for results cesium salts according to EU A.16 available.
Cesium iodide                       not auto-flammable
Cesium hydroxide *H2O          not auto-flammable
Cesium sulphate                    not auto-flammable
Cesium nitrate                        not auto-flammable
Cesium chloride                     not auto-flammable

From the experiences with five cesium salts it can be assumed that cesium carbonate is not auto-flammable.
