Validation
The linearity of detector response with respect to concentration was assessed over the nominal concentration range of 0 to 10 mg/l for the organic solutions. This was satisfactory, with a correlation coefficient of 0.999 being obtained.
Discussion
Substances having a log10 Pow of greater than 3 are regarded as having the potential to bioaccumulate in the environment.
The test was carried out using unadjusted n-octanol saturated water, at ~ pH 7 (as recommended for salts).
No test material was detected in any of the organic samples. The limit value was taken for the sample with the highest baseline absorbance at the analytical wavelength (Sample 1).
Conclusion
The partition coefficient of the test material has been determined to be less than 1.50 x 10-3 at 24.9 ± 0.5°C, log10 Pow -2.82.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- The partition coefficient of the test material has been determined to be less than 1.50 x 10-3 at 24.9 ± 0.5°C, log10 Pow <-2.82.
- Executive summary:
The determination for substance NDS-Li in project number 1307 -0447 was carried out using the shake-flask method, Method A8 of Commission Directive 92/69/EEC (which constitutes Annex V of Council Directive 67/548/EEC). The partition coefficient of the test material has been determined to be less than 1.50 x 10-3 at 24.9 ± 0.5°C, log10 Pow
