Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
No experimental data are available on the bioconcentration of Ethyl centralite by aquatic organisms.
The literature data are available (supporting information). These data are based on the calculated values of log Kow.
(Q)SAR model EPI Suite for predicting fish BCF was used. The experimental value of log Kow (log Kow = 3.98) is used for (Q)SAR. The calculated BCF value is 196.3 L/kg.
The experimental value of log Kow (3.98) is higher than 3 which is the threshold value for the data waiving according to Annex IX of REACH Regulation.
The experimental value log Kow is smaller than 4.5 which is the threshold value for PBT/vPvB assessment according to Annex XIII of REACH Regulation (Screening information as listed in Section 3.1 of Annex XIII to the REACH Regulation). The calculated BCF value is 196.3 L/kg. This value is smaller than 2000 (PBT and vPvB criteria according to Section 1 of Annex XIII to the REACH Regulation), resp. this value is notclosed to the threshold values of either 2000 for 'B' or 5000 for 'vB'.
Based on above mentioned information the conclusion is the substance does not fulfil the B/vB criteria.
In addition, the performing of Bioaccumulation in fish: aqueous or dietary bioaccumulation fish test (OECD TG 305) involves animal testing.
Therefore the study is scientifically not necessary.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- BCF (aquatic species):
- 196.3 L/kg ww
Additional information
The value BCF = 196.3 L/kg was chosen as key value for CSA. This value is based on experimental value log Kow = 3.98
