Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
FIRST AID (Eyes): First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
FIRST AID (Inhalation): Fresh air, rest
Fire-fighting measures
Combustible when exposed to heat or flame.
FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES:
To fight fire use carbon dioxide, dry chemical, fog, mist.
Accidental release measures
Ventilate the area of spill or leak.
Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Collect leaking liquid in sealable containers. Do not use plastic containers. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place.
Handling and storage
Store in cool, well-ventilated place, out of direct rays of sun, away from areas of high fire hazard, periodically inspected, Incompatible materials isolated.
PREVENT GENERATION OF MISTS!
Ingestion: Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
STORAGE
Store in an area without drain or sewer access. Separated from bases and strong oxidants.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Should be sufficient to reduce exposures below the workplace standards for tributyl phosphate established by the national regulations to the lowest level achievable.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Respiratory Protection:
Respiratory protection should be used in accordance with company and applicable national regulatory requirements.
Respiratory protection should be used to supplement the engineering controls and work practices.
Persons should not be assigned to tasks requiring the use of respirators unless it has been determined they are physically able to perform the work and are trained to use the equipment.
Protective clothing:
For operations where the worker may come into direct contact with liquid tributyl phosphate, protective clothing (chemical impervious and resistant) shall be provided when necessary.
All protective clothing shall be well aired and inspected for physical defects before reuse.
Eye protection:
In work operations where tributyl phosphate may enter the eye, eye protection shall be provided.
Suitable protective clothing and eye protection should be in accordance with national, or regional standards and regulations.
Stability and reactivity
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION: When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes
Disposal considerations
This substance, when discarded or disposed of, is a hazardous waste. The transportation, storage, treatment, and disposal of this waste material must be conducted in compliance with local regulations for hazardous wastes.
Disposal can occur only in properly permitted facilities. Check state and local regulation of any additional requirements for disposal conditions.
