Flammable solids
- Key result
- Test procedure:
- burning time (test type not further specified)
- Remarks:
- or specified in description of method (migrated information)
- Burning time:
- ca. 1.8 s
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Interpretation of results:
- non flammable
- Conclusions:
- Ignition on contact with air: no
Burning time (s): > 45
Based on the results the substance should not be classified as highly flammable according to Regulation 67/548/EEC and EC 1272/2008. - Executive summary:
Tends to continue with self progressive decomposition if the test item is first ignited by a hot flame. The decomposition is made without appearance of flames at a constant speed of approx. 1.8 cm / minute, through a bed of the powder.
Flammability in Contact with Water and Pyrophoric Properties
- Chemical Structure
The appraisal of the molecular structure indicates no risk with respect to pyrophoric properties or the potential of evolving flammable gases in contact with water or humid air.
- Practical Experience
The test item did not show any spontaneous ignition of formation of flammable gases performing studies in aqueous test systems.
Thus, it can be concluded beyond reasonable doubt that the test item does not ignite spontaneously when in contact with water or humid air.
