Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A study was performed in accordance with OECD guideline 207 and in compliance with GLP. The 14-d LC50 of Mo2C to earthworms (Eisenia fetida) was higher than 1000 mg/kg dry soil.

Additional information

A study was performed in accordance with OECD guideline 207 and in compliance with GLP to identify the toxic effects of dimolybdenum carbide (Mo2C) on soil macroorganisms. Based on the result of a preliminary test, the definitive study was conducted as limit test with the concentrations 0 and 1000 mg Mo2C per kg dry soil. During the test period, neither mortality nor any toxic symptoms (weight loss, behavioural and pathological effects) were observed in both the control group and in presence of Mo2C. Accordingly, the 14-day LC50 of Mo2C to earthworms (Eisenia fetida) is higher than 1000 mg/kg dry soil.
