Description of key information

In the short term toxicity test to fish the NOEC value of the test substance C17-Acrylate based on nominal (loaded) concentration was >= 100 mg/L.

In a 96 hour acute toxicity study, zebrafish (Danio rerio) were exposed to C 17 Acrylate at nominal (loading) concentrations of 0 (control), 100 mg/L under static-renewal conditions in accordance with the OECD 203 test guideline. The water pH, temperature and dissolved oxygen were within acceptable guideline specifications. The 96 hour NOEC was ≥100 mg/L based on the nominal (loading) concentration of the test substance (BASF, 2014).

In a actue toxicity study, Chinise rare minnow (Gobiocypris ratus) wer exposed to C 17 Acrylate for 96 hour at a nominal (loading) concentrations of 0 (control) and 100 mg/L under static-renewal condidtions in accordance with the OECD 203 test guideline. The LL50 was greater than 100 mg/L (the measurd concentration was below LOD2, LOD2= 1.57 mg/L) (BASF, 2017).
