- Time point:
- other: Not given in the study
- Score:
- > 2 - < 3
- Reversibility:
- not fully reversible within: 14 days
- Irritant / corrosive response data:
- Slight hyperaemia with moderate necrosis and a resulting eschar formation. Healing appeared to be delayed on this site.

The skin irritation effects were not evaluated following common methods such as the Draize's method and scores given above were estimated on the basis of the description of effects.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Interpretation of results:
- irritating
- Remarks:
- Migrated information
- Conclusions:
- It can be concluded that chloroform is irritating to the rabbit's skin.
- Executive summary:
A skin irritation test was carried out with chloroform applying a cotton pad soaked with chloroform to the shaved skin of three rabbits for 24 hours. The test did not apply principles of generally accepted test guidelines. The dermal application resulted in slight hyperaemia with moderate necrosis and a resulting eschar formation. Healing appeared to be delayed on this site. From these findings it can be concluded that chloroform is irritating to the rabbit skin.
