Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation : If inhaled, remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing.
Consult a physician for severe cases.
Skin contact : Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water while removing all contaminated clothes and shoes.
If skin irritation persists, call a physician.
Eye contact : Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes.
Consult an ophtalmologist.
Ingestion : After swallowing: only when the patient is fully conscious: rinse mouth with water.
Do not induce vomiting.
Obtain medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media : Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture : During a fire, smoke may contain the original material in addition to unidentified toxic and/or irritating compounds.
Advice for firefighters :
- Special protective equipment for firefighters. In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear protective suit.
- Specific methods : Standard procedure for chemical fires.
Accidental release measures
Advice for non-emergency personnel :
- Ensure adequate ventilation.
- Use personal protective equipment.
- Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
- Do not breathe vapours/dust.
Advice for emergency responders :
- Ensure adequate ventilation.
- Use personal protective equipment.
- Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
- Do not breathe vapours/dust.
- Evacuate personnel to safe areas.
- Remove all sources of ignition.
- Pay attention to flashback.
Environmental precautions :
Do not allow material to contaminate ground water system.
Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up :
Soak up with inert absorbent material and dispose of as hazardous waste.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling :
- Ensure there is sufficient ventilation.
- Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
- Do not breathe vapours/dust.
- When using, do not eat, drink or smoke.
- Wash hands and exposed skin before eating, drinking or smoking and after work.
- Wear protective gloves and goggles.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities :
Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Protect from moisture.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Eye protection :
Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN166.
Hand protection :
The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it.
Gloves should be selected according to the application and the duration of use at the work station.
Skin and body protection :
Protective suit.
Respiratory protection :
In case of insufficient ventilation wear suitable respiratory equipment.
Respirator with combination filter for vapour/particulate (EN 141).
Environmental exposure : Prevent product from entering surface water or sewage.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity : No hazards to be specially mentioned.
Chemical stability :
Stable under recommended storage conditions.
Stable at normal ambient temperature and pressure.
Conditions to avoid :
Heat, flame and sparks.
Pronounced heat up.
Incompatible materials :
Strong oxidizing agents.
Hazardous decomposition products :
Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and unburned hydrocarbons (smoke).
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods :
* Waste from residues / unused products :
- Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.
- Can be landfilled or incinerated, when in compliance with local regulations.
- According to the European Waste Catalogue, Waste Codes are not product specific, but application specific.
- Waste codes should be assigned by the user based on the application for which the product was used.
* Contaminated packaging : Dispose of as unused product.
