Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
The substance, a metal complex, is a black solid at 20 °C and 1013 hPa it . Using the laser light scattering method, the mass median diameter value for its particles was found to be 13 µm.
The evaluation of thermal properties was based on a DSC analysis: a melting point and a boiling point were not detected; above about 225 °C the substance was not stable (it reacts or decomposes), as an exothermic effect was observed.
The density was determined by using the gas comparison method. A relative density of 1.72 at 20 °C was found.
The substance is very soluble in water at room temperature: the water solubility was estimated to be > 400 g/l at 20 °C
The partition coefficient (n-octanol/water) of test item was estimated to be < 1.2 * 10-6, using the flask-shaking method (log Pow < -5.9).
No reactions with water or emission of flammable gases have ever been noted. Furthermore, for soluble dyes a reaction with water is not a desirable property from the use point of view. Therefore, the substance is not expected as a substance that in contact with water may react emitting flammable gases.
Even if the melting point is above 300 °C, an estimation of the vapour pressure of the test substance showed a value of 6.3 * 10-16Pa at 25 °C.
The surface tension of a solution of test substance in water at a concentration of 1.069 g/l was found to be 70.1 mN/m.; the test substance is not a surface active material.
The substance is not flammable as it could not be ignited with a flame and coloured black in contact with the ignition source. A self-ignition point temperature of 270 °C was found. Thermal sensitivity and mechanical sensitivity (shock and friction) tests showed the absence of explosive properties. The substance is considered not to be potentially oxidising, on the basis of the information and review of the substance.
