Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
Category 1 (skin sensitising) based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The EC3 value (derived by linear interpolation) could not be calculated as the stimulation indices of all concentrations were above 3.
Consequently, according to OECD 429 VSV16 is considered to be a dermal sentitiser. Therefore, according to Commission Regulation (EU) No 286/2011 as well as GHS (Globally Harmonized Classification System) VSV16 has obligatory labelling requirement for skin sentisation and is calssified into Category 1.
Executive summary:

There was no mortality but signs of irritation for all three test item concentrations. One of the animals treated with the test item at a concentration of 50% showed signs of excessive irritation. Therefore this animal was excluded from the stimulation calculation. The body weights of all animals were in the expected range.

Each of the three tested concentrations of the test item reached the stimulation index of 3.
