Endpoint:
toxicity to microorganisms
Type of information:
read-across from supporting substance (structural analogue or surrogate)
Adequacy of study:
key study
Justification for type of information:
A discussion and report on the read across strategy is given as an attachment in IUCLID Section 13.
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
read-across source
Key result
Duration:
28 d
Dose descriptor:
NOEC
Effect conc.:
100 mg/L
Nominal / measured:
nominal
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Basis for effect:
other: non-inhibitory
Details on results:
HF-1000 attained 43% degradation after 28 day, while the toxicity control attained 45% degradation after 14 days and 58% degradation after 28 days. The results of the toxicity control confirm that HF-1000 was not toxic to the sewage treatment micro-organisms used in the test.
Results with reference substance (positive control):
Aniline attained 69% degradation after 14 days and 73% degradation after 28 days confirming the viability of the inoculum and suitability of the test conditions.
Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
The toxicity control in the OECD 301F study which contained 100 mg/L Hydrocarbons, C12-C16, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, alkenes and 100 mg/L of anline attained 45% degradation after 14 days and 58% degradation after 28 days. These results of the toxicity control confirm that Hydrocarbons, C12-C16, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, alkenes was not toxic to the sewage treatment micro-organisms used in the test.
Executive summary:

In an OECD 301F study, the toxicity control which contained 100 mg/L Hydrocarbons, C12-C16, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, alkenes and 100 mg/L of aniline confirmed that Hydrocarbons, C12-C16, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, alkenes was not toxic to the sewage treatment micro-organisms used in the test.

Description of key information

The study was conducted according to a standard guideline (OECD 301F) under GLP

Key value for chemical safety assessment
