Administrative data

First-aid measures

Inhalation: In case of shortness of breath, give oxygen. Immediately move to fresh air. Consult a physician if irritating symptoms develop and persist.

Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Rinse contaminated skin immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

Eye Contact: Immediately rinse eyes thoroughly with running water as long as possible (approx. 15 min).
Take injured quickly to factory medical center or call an ambulance (code word: eye accident).

Ingestion: In case of consciousness wash mouth with water and let drink some of water. Seek medical advice. Keep patient at rest.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable Extinguishing Media: Fire-extinguishing powder Dry sand carbon dioxide (CO2), water spray

Unsuitable Extinguishing Media: Water jet

Dangerous Combustion Products: irritant fumes

Protective equipment for firefighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and fire protective suite

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Wear chemical resistant protective suite. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not proceed against the wind direction. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak.

Environmental: Do not release on the soil or into drains.

Methods for cleaning: Cover with dry sand and take up mechanically. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Accidental Release: Records must be kept of all incidents involving uncontrolled leakage or spillage of material, indicating in particular the amounts concerned, exposure of personnel and countermeasures
taken. Buildings, apparatus, and all items of equipment must be decontaminated and subsequently inspected to ensure that no further risk remains.
All equipment and protective garments must be either decontaminated or properly contained for disposal before leaving the area.

Handling and storage

The substance is used under strictly controlled conditions during its whole lifecycle as described under Reach, Article 17/18. The substance is rigorously contained by technical means during its whole lifecycle and procedural and control technologies are used to minimise emission and any resulting exposure .


Handling: Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection (dust musk included).


Storage: Store in a cool and well ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed, properly labelled. Keep away from source of ignition, no smoking.


Avoid release to the environment.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Industrial Hygiene: All areas where this material is handled must be labelled as a Designated Area. Access to Designated Areas shall be limited to authorised personnel only. All equipment and protective garments must be either decontaminated or properly contained for disposal before leaving the area. 


The personal protective measure may be adapted appropriately when working in closed systems or under laboratory conditions. Regular cleaning of equipment, work area and clothing. Internal working procedures available to personnel covering personal hygiene, standard cleaning, waste disposal and maintenance. Personnel instructed and trained, regular refresher training established.
