First-aid measures

- General advice: Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.

- Following inhalation: Upon inhalation of aerosol/vapour/dust: Take the patient into the fresh air; if there is difficulty in breathing, medical advice is required.

- Following skin contact: Cleansing with plenty of water, soap or other non-irritating cleansing agents.

- Following eye contact: Contamination of the eyes must be treated by thorough irrigation with water, with the eyelids held open. Eventually a doctor (or eye  specialist) should be consulted.

- Following ingestion: If the product is swallowed, the patient must at once drink water repeatedly, if possible with the addition of activated carbon. If the patient feels unwell, seek medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

- Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, CO2, foam, dry powder.

Extinguishing media that must not be used for safety reasons: not dermined

- Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment for firefighting: Firemen have to wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information: Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Personal precautions: Avoid formation and deposition of dust. Use  the necessary personal protection equipment during any work.

- Environmental precautions: Environmental precautions: Do not empty into drains or waters.

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Take up with absorbent material and fill into a closable container.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling:

Advice on safe handling: Close container immediately after use, avoid excessive heat. Do not allow to dry out.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Observe the usual precautionary measures required for chemicals with dust-explosive properties. Observe national regulations.

- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Requirements for storage rooms and vessels: Store in original container in a cool, dry place.

In filling operations take precautionary measures against static discharges.

- Storage class: 11 Combustible solids

- Storage stability: Storage period: 60 Months

Exposure controls / personal protection

- General protective measures: Do not breathe dust. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.

- Hygiene measures: Keep away from food and drink stuffs. Do not eat, drink or smoke at work. Wash hands before breaks and at end of work and use skin-protecting ointment.

- Respiratory protection: Dust mask with particle filter.

- Hand protection: Wear suitable gloves e.g. of PVC or nitrile rubber. In the event of contamination, change protective gloves immediately.

- Eye protection: Safety glasses with side protection shield

- Body protection: Wear protective clothing.

Stability and reactivity

- Reactivity: No hazardous reactions when stored and handled according to prescribed instructions.

- Chemical stability: Thermal decomposition: No thermal decomposition when stored and handled correctly.

- Possibility of hazardous reactions: Hazardous reactions: The product is not a dust explosion risk as supplied; however the build-up of fine dust under unfavourable conditions can lead to a risk of dust explosions.

- Hazardous decomposition products: Not applicable

- Conditions to avoid: For avoidable conditions: not necessary

- Incompatible materials: For avoidable materials: not necessary

Disposal considerations

- Waste treatment methods

Product: If utilisation or recycling of the product is not possible, it should be disposed of according to the local regulations and laws, e. g. by incineration in a suitable plant.

European Waste Catalogue (EWC) code: 040217 Dyestuffs and pigments other than those mentioned in 040216

Uncleaned packaging: Soiled, empty containers are to be treated in the same way as the contents.
