Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
medical attention, if appropriate.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash off immediately with soap and water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Drink plenty of water and seek medical attention. Vomiting
should not be induced.
Fire-fighting measures
may include water and oxides of carbon and nitrogen.
Suitable extinguishing media are water mist, foam, carbon
dioxide and dry powder. In the event of a serious fire,
breathing apparatus should be worn.
Accidental release measures
or by incineration, in accordance with local regulations.
Avoid breathing dust. (Although this substance is not
considered to be a significant environmental hazard,
reasonable care should be taken to avoid large-scale
contamination of drains, waterways etc).
Handling and storage
gloves and goggles. Avoid dust formation. If ventilation is
inadequate, wear a dust mask (eg NIOSH/MSHA approved
TC-21C-141). Do not eat or drink at the workplace. Observe
normal industrial safe handling practices.
Storage: Keep containers firmly closed when not in use. Store away
from food and food containers. Observe normal industrial
safe handling practices.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The notifier is of the opinion that neutralisation of the
substance is not necessary as the substance does not have
any acute effects. Long term effects can be avoided if the
precautions under 2.3.1 are followed.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal by this means is possible. However, an approved
tip should be used.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Disposal by this method is possible, care should be taken
as nitrogen oxides may be produced.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Although the substance is not thought to present a
significant hazard to the aquatic environment, care should
be taken to prevent undue contamination of drains, water
courses etc.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from polymers is not possible.
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Once incorporated in a polymer neutralisation is not
necessary.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Dispose of polymers containing the substance in the usual
manner for polycarbonate, polyacetal and polyester polymers
