Description of key information

Skin sensitizing cat. 1 (QSAR predicition for skin sensitization: weak sensitizer, reliability 2)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Additional information:

Since the test substance is corrosive to skin, a sensitisation study does not need to be conducted in accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII. However, QSAR modelling with OASIS Times (v. 21.26, Skin sensitization with autoxidation) predicit a weak sensitizing potential after metabilization. Thus, the substance is classified as skin sensitizing Cat. 1.

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Additional information:

There are no human data available indicating a respiratory sensitisation potential.

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, a sensitisation study does not need to be conducted. However, based on the available QSAR prediction (OASIS Times, reliability 2), the test substance is considered to be classified as a skin sensitizer Cat. 1 under Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
