- The test substance was examined for spontaneous ignition behaviour in the apparatus according to Grewer. The results of this method compared to the results of a test in an oven according to A.16 are considered to be more conservative. The wire mesh of the Grewer Oven has a cylindrical shape. The continuous air supply into the Grewer Oven leads to lower self-ignition temperatures.
