First-aid measures

General information : Seek medical attention if ill effect develops.

First aid measures :

- Inhalation : Remove person to uncontaminated area. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.

- Skin contact : Wash skin with mild soap and water.

- Eye contact : Rinse immediately with clean water for 10-15 min.

- Ingestion :Rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious).

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media : dry powder, carbon dioxide, water spray, alcohol resistant foam.

Special hazards arising from the substance: nitrogen oxides, carbon oxides.

Protection against fire : If necessary, use an autonomous respiratory protection for the fire control.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions :Avoid generating dusty conditions. AVoid inhaling vapors, fogs of pulverizing or gases.

Environmental precautions : Do not flush down sewers.

Clean up methods : Sweep and deprive of the shovel. Keep in bowls adapted and closed for the elimination.

Handling and storage

Storage : Store in tightly closed containers. Store in dry, cool, well-ventilated area.

Handling : Provide adequate venilation where dust is formed. Normal measures for preventive fire protection.

This substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions in accordance with Reach regulation Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediate. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management system is available at each site. Written confirmation of application of strictly controlled conditions has been received from every downstream user of the intermediate.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Industrial hygiene : Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands before breaks and at theand of workday.  Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available in the immediate vicinity of any potential exposure.

Personal protection :

- Respiratory protection : Respiratory protection is not required. Use a typical protection mask N95 (US) or of type P1 (IN143) to protect itself from levels of dusts. Use material tested and approved by standards such as NOIOSH (US) or CEN (EU).

- Hand protection : Manipulate with gloves. Gloves have to be controlled before the use. Use a technique of withdrawal of gloves suited to avoid that the skins contacts the product. Throw gloves contaminated after the use according to the current laws and to the good practices of laboratory. Wash and dry hands.

- Skin protection : Combination of protection against chemicals. The type of equipment of protection must be selected according to the concentration and to the quantity of the product at work.

- Eye protection : Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN 166. Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN 166 (EU).
