Registry of restriction intentions until outcome
Registry of restriction intentions until outcome
The registry of restriction intentions until outcome lists the intentions and Annex XV restriction proposals received by ECHA.
A restriction proposal may be prepared by a Member State or by ECHA at the request of the Commission or on its own initiative for substances in the Authorisation List. It is a legal requirement for a Member State to notify ECHA of its intention to prepare a restriction dossier. The advance notice enables interested parties to plan and prepare for commenting later on.
Interested parties can follow the progress of a proposal through the restriction process, from the notification of the intention to the adoption of the final opinions by the Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC) and the Committee for Socio-economic Analysis (SEAC), and the adoption of the restriction by the European Commission.
Stakeholders are encouraged to submit any relevant information to the dossier submitters during the preparation of the restriction proposal and during the consultations. Information to motivate any exemptions to the scope described in the intention is particularly useful to receive in the preparatory phase of the dossier.

Tar Oils derived from coal and/or wood by distillation or by other processes
show/hide
Distillates (coal tar), upper
The distillate from coal tar having an approximate distillation range of 220°C to 450°C (428°F to 842°F). Composed primarily of three to four membered condensed ring aromatic hydrocarbons and other hydrocarbons.
EC / List no:
266-026-1
| CAS no:
65996-91-0
Creosote oil, high-boiling distillate
The high-boiling distillation fraction obtained from the high temperature carbonization of bituminous coal which is further refined to remove excess crystalline salts. It consists primarily of creosote oil with some of the normal polynuclear aromatic salts, which are components of coal tar distillates, removed. It is crystal free at approximately 5°C (41°F).
EC / List no:
274-565-9
| CAS no:
70321-79-8
Anthracene oil
A complex combination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons obtained from coal tar having an approximate distillation range of 300°C to 400°C (572°F to 752°F). Composed primarily of phenanthrene, anthracene and carbazole
EC / List no:
292-602-7
| CAS no:
90640-80-5
Creosote oil, acenaphthene fraction
A complex combination of hydrocarbons produced by the distillation of coal tar and boiling in the range of approximately 240°C to 280°C (464°F to 536°F). Composed primarily of acenaphthene, naphthalene and alkyl naphthalene.
EC / List no:
292-605-3
| CAS no:
90640-84-9
Distillates (coal tar), naphthalene oils
A complex combination of hydrocarbons obtained by the distillation of coal tar. It consists primarily of aromatic and other hydrocarbons, phenolic compounds and aromatic nitrogen compounds and distills in the approximate range of 200°C to 250°C (392°F to 482°F).
EC / List no:
283-484-8
| CAS no:
84650-04-4
Creosote oil
A complex combination of hydrocarbons obtained by the distillation of coal tar. It consists primarily of aromatic hydrocarbons and may contain appreciable quantities of tar acids and tar bases. It distills at the approximate range of 200°C to 325°C (392°F to 617°F).
EC / List no:
263-047-8
| CAS no:

The reaction product obtained by neutralizing coal tar oil alkaline extract with an acidic solution, such as aqueous sulfuric acid, or gaseous carbon dioxide, to obtain the free acids. Composed primarily of tar acids such as phenol, cresols, and xylenols.
EC / List no:
266-019-3
| CAS no:
65996-85-2
Creosote, wood
A complex combination of phenols obtained as a distillate from wood tar.
EC / List no:
232-419-1
| CAS no:
