Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Short-term toxicity tests on three trophic levels (algae, invertebrates, fish) and long-term toxicity tests on two trophic levels (algae, invertebrates) are available for the assessment of the aquatic toxicity of Dipropylheptylcarbonate (CAS No. 12384449-42-7).

The short-term test were conducted according to GLP and OECD guidelines testing 100 mg/L loading rate WFS´s in limit tests. The EC50 and LC50 values were determined to be > 100 mg/L. Thus, the test substance is neither acute toxic nor harmful to aquatic life according to OECD criteria.

The long-term toxicity test with algae and aquatic invertebrates (Daphnia) were also performed according to GLP and OECD guidelines testing water soluble fractions in limit test. The algal toxicity test was performed with a 100 mg/L loading rate WFS while in the long-term toxicity test with Daphnia a 10 mg/L loading rate WFS was applied. Both tests did not show any measurable toxic effects of the test substance. Thus, the test substance does not exhibit any relevant chronic toxicity to aquatic organisms.

On the basis of the available data it can be concluded that Dipropylheptylcarbonate is not toxic to aquatic life.
