Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The toxic potential of the substance to fish was evaluated in two studies conducted according to " Method for acute toxicity test with fish, microinvertebrates and amphibians (US EPA 1975)"

In the key study, Salmo Gairdneri were exposed to test material at nominal concentrations of 0, 1.7, 4.7, 7.7, 13, 22 and 36 mg A.I. /L under static conditions for 96 hours.

The 96-h LC50was found as >22 mg/l. However, as globules of undissolved test material were formed on the surface throughout the exposure period, the effects observed could also be attributed to physical effects.

In the supporting study, Lepomis Macrochirus were exposed to the test material at nominal concentrations of 0, 23, 22, 36, 60 and 100 mg A.I. /l under static conditions for 96 hours.

The 96-h LC50was > 46 mg/l. Globules of undissolved test material were formed on the surface also in this case, throught the exposure period.

EC50 values are higher than the solubility of the substance in water. Both studies are leading to the same conclusion.

No analytical monitoring was performed in none of the studies, while in the supporting study a problem with the dissolved oxygen occurred at 96 -hour (8 % of satured oxygen in high dose jar and under 60 % of satured oxygen in control group). in both cases the test material formed small globule at the surface
