First-aid measures
General information
Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately
After inhalation
Immediately remove to fresh air. Consult a physician afterwards.
After contact with skin
Wash thoroughly with water and soap.
Take for medical treatment
After contact with eyes
Immediately rinse eyes under running water (approximately 15 minutes, or use an emergency
eyewash). Always consult a physician.
After ingestion
Rinse out mouth and give plenty of water to drink.
Allow patient to vomit.
Call in a physician immediately and show him the Safety Data Sheet.
Advice to doctor
Symptoms
Cyanosis (change of colour of lips and finger nails to blue gray).
Methaemoglobinaemia
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media
water spray jet
foam
dry powder
carbon dioxide
Special hazards from the substance itself, its combustion products or from its vapours
poisonous gases/vapors
carbon oxides
nitrogen oxides
hydrogen chloride
Special protective equipment for firefighting
Use self-contained breathing apparatus
Wear full protective suit.
Further information
Cool endangered containers with water spray jet.
Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the
local regulations.
Firefighting water may not spill into open rivers and ponds.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions
Wear personal protective equipment. Unprotected persons must be kept away.
Environmental precautions
Do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil
Methods for cleaning up/taking up
Take up mechanically
Place in suitable containers and send for recovery or disposal.
Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly with water and detergents, observing
environmental regulations
Dispose cleaning water in a safe way.
Additional information
The solid is toxic or corrosive.
Combustible solid
The substance does not dissolve readily in water.
Water pollution
Handling and storage
Advice on safe handling
Avoid dust formation.
Keep containers tightly closed
Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace
Preferably handle in closed system.
Ventilation, local exhaust required.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion
Organic products which are intentionally or unintentionally in powdered form have, in
principle, the possibility of creating a dust explosion hazard
Advice on storage compatibility
Do not store with acids
Further information on storage conditions
Keep container tightly closed and dry in a cool, well-ventilated place
