Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Description of first aid measures
- In case of inhalation: Move victim to fresh air. In case of respiratory difficulties seek medical attention.
- Following skin contact: Wipe affected skin area with cloth. Remove residues with soap and water. In case of skin irritation, consult a physician.
- After eye contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart. Subsequently consult an ophthalmologist.
- After swallowing: Rinse mouth and drink large quantities of water. Seek medical attention. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed: No data available
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: Treat symptomatically
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media
- Suitable extinguishing media: Dry extinguishing powder, foam, carbon dioxide.
- Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons: High power water jet
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
- In case of fire may be liberated: Silicon compounds, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.
Advice for firefighters
- Special protective equipment for firefighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
- Additional information: Hazchem-Code: -
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
- Plug leak if safely possible. Remove all sources of ignition.
- Avoid contact with the substance. Provide adequate ventilation. Do not breathe vapours.
Environmental precautions
- Do not allow to penetrate soil, waterbodies or drains.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
- Soak up with absorbent materials such as sand, siliceus earth, acid- or universal binder.
- Store in special closed containers and dispose of according to ordinance.
Reference to other sections
- Refer additionally to section “Exposure controls/personal protection” and “Disposal considerations”.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling
- Advices on safe handling:
Provide adequate ventilation, and local exhaust as needed.
Do not breathe vapours. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
- Precautions against fire and explosion: Keep away from heat sources, sparks and open flames.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
- Requirements for storerooms and containers:
Keep container tightly closed in a cool place. Store containers in upright position.
Keep away from heat sources, sparks and open flames.
Protect containers against air humidity and water.
Containers will enclose product residues and vapours after being emptied.
Do not re-use the empty container. Protect from punctures by sharp objects.
Specific end use(s)
Silane coupling agent.
