Relative density = density (kg/m3) / 999.975 (kg/m3) (density of water at 4°C).

The average density at 20°C ± 0.5 °C of the test item is 846 ± 1 kg/m3.

Conclusions:
The relative density at 20°C/4°C of REACTION MASS OF DL-LIMONENE, ALPHA- GAMMA- TERPINENES, TERPINOLENE is 0.846 ± 0.001.
Executive summary:

The relative density of REACTION MASS OF DL-LIMONENE, ALPHA- GAMMA- TERPINENES, TERPINOLENE has been measured according to OECD Guideline 109 and EU Method A.3.

Using an oscillating densimeter, the relative density of the test item at 20 °C in reference with water at 4 °C (D20/4) was determined as 0.846 ± 0.001.

The result has been considered as reliable with restrictions because the test was performed in complinace with edicted guidelines giving scientifically valid results but some details are lacking in the report (no GLP, criteria of validity of the results not given).

Remarks on result:
other: final result (mean value of two independent determinations) - relative density at 20 °C in reference with water at 4 °C

Results of two determinations are reported in the following table:

     Measurement           Determination
 2
  Temperature (°C)  20.0 20.0
Mass of the empty pycnometer (g)  31.4808 31.4808
Mass of the pycnometer filled with ultrapure water (g)  81.5211 81.5211
Mass of the pycnometer filled with the test item (g)  73.7768 73.8488
Density of the test item (kg/m3)  843.9 845.3
  Mean Density (kg/m3)     844.6

The two determinations are within the validity criteria of the method: (less than 1% of difference).

No additional determination was performed.

Conclusions:
The relative density at 20°C of REACTION MASS OF DL-LIMONENE, ALPHA- GAMMA- TERPINENES, TERPINOLENE is 0.845.
Executive summary:

A study was performed to determine the density of the test item REACTION MASS OF DL-LIMONENE, ALPHA- GAMMA- TERPINENES, TERPINOLENE. The method followed was designed to be compliant with the OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals No.109, ''Density of Liquids and Solids'' and the Method A.3 of Commission Regulation No. 440/2008, ''Relative Density''. .

In this method, the density is determined at a specific temperature using a pycnometer.

Density is calculated from the difference in weight between the full and the empty pycnometer and its volume. The pycnometer volume is determined by carrying out the experiment at the selected temperature with the quantity of ultrapure water required to fill the pycnometer.

The following results were obtained:

 Trial  Density (kg/m3) at 20.0 +/-0.1°C
 1 843.9
 2  845.3
 Mean  844.6

These values respect validity criteria (less than 1% of difference). Moreover, the bath used to maintain the pycnometer at 20°C did not vary by more than 0.1°C.

The density of the test item was determined to be 844.6 kg/m3 at 20.0 +/-0.1°C (mean value of two independant determinations).

The relative density of the test item was determined to be D204 = 0.845

Description of key information

The relative density of dipentene multiconstituent was determined to be 0.845.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
0.845

Additional information

The relative density of dipentene multiconstituent at 20°C was determined in a study performed according to OECD Guideline 109 and EU method A3 with pycnometer method. As the results were obtained under GLP without deviation, they were considered as valid and reliable without restriction and used as key value.

This result is supported by a second study conducted on the substance but not under GLP.
