As requested by ECHA in a Decision an OECD 305 study was conducted as dietary exposure study. The study was GLP documented. Rainbow trout (O. mykiss) were used as test organisms. Since no bioaccumulation of the test item was observed and in order to be sure not to miss a late bioaccumulation event the uptake phase lasted 36 days. However, no bioaccumulation was determined for none of the 5 constituents. Most measurements were < LOD and some data points < LOQ. Since no bioaccumulation had occurred it was decided to skip the depuration phase and to terminate the study. In conclusion, the OECD 305 dietary exposure study revealed that none of the 5 UVCB constituents with log Kow > 4.5 accumulated in fish and thus, the test substance is not bioaccumulative.
However, QSAR indicated that the substance components Butylglycidylether (CAS 2426-08-6) and Propylene oxide (CAS 75 -56 -9) with an BCF-value of 3.16 are not bioaccumulative. Only Tetrabrombisphenol A (TBBPA) (CAS 79 -94 -7) has a certain potential to bioaccumulate with BCF-values which lies in the range between 20 and 170. However, QSAR and available data on TBBPA give a BCF range which is clearly below the PBT/vPvB criteria as bioaccumulative (>= 2000) and very bioaccumulative (>= 5000).
In conclusion, the only relevant component for bioaccumulative hazard is TBBPA for which no classification (CLP, PBT) applies.
Based on the available results, the Test item is considered to be not bioaccumulative (BFC << 2000).
