Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
Toxicity to fish
The acute toxicity (LC50) of 1, 2 - Diethoxypropane to Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) was determined over a 96 h period, under semi-static conditions. Ten Rainbow Trout per test concentration plus a control, were exposed to 0 (control), 125, 250, 500, 1000 and 2000 mg/L nominal concentrations. The corresponding mean measured concentrations were 0, 143, 282, 547, 1067 and 2062 mg/L. The 96 h LC50 of 1, 2- Diethoxypropane to Rainbow Trout is greater than 1067 and less than 2062 mg/L under the test conditions. The NOEC, LOEC and LC100 values are 282, 547 and 2062 mg/L, respectively.
Toxicity to acquatic invertebrates
The median effective concentration (EC50) for immobilisation of Daphnia, under static conditions. Twenty Daphnia were tested at each of the following mean measured concentrations of 1, 2 - Diethoxypropane 1624, 864, 429, 221, 112 and 0 mg/L. The results indicate that the 48 h EC50 for immobilisation of Daphnia is greater than 1624 mg/L, under the test conditions of the test. The NOEC and LOEC values are 112 and 221 mg/L, respectively.
Toxicity to algae
The acute toxicity of the test substance diethoxy-1,2-propane in solution was evaluated in the algal strain Scenedesmus subspicatus using a 72 -hour satic test according to OECD guideline (No. 201). Under the experimental conditions, the 72 -hour EC50 of diethoxy-1,2-propane is > 690 mg/L for Scenedesmus subspicatus. The NOEC at 72 hours is ≥ 690 mg/L based on the specific growth rate data.
Toxicity to microorganisms
The effect of the test item diethoxy-1,2 -propane on the respiration of activated sewage sludge was evaluated using a 3 -hour static test according to OECD guideline (No. 209). Under the experimental conditions, the 3 -hour EC50 of the test item is > 1000 mg/L for activated sludge. The test item should be considered as non-toxic for the micro-organisms of a water treatment plant.
