Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Adsorption/desorption is not a specific physicochemical property of a substance. This property indicates the binding capacity (or ‘stickiness’) of a substance to solid surfaces, and so is essential for understanding environmental partitioning behaviour. Adsorption to solid surfaces is the main partitioning process that drives distribution in soil, surface waters, and sediments. Therefore, information on adsorption/desorption is an essential input to environmental exposure models, because it shows the possibility to use STP as substance sewage treatment, affects both the concentration in surface water and the concentration in sediment while the desorption potential gives an idea of its motility on the ground and water surfaces.

Analogue substance was tested for adsorption/desorption potential following OECD 121 and LogKoc a t30°C and pH=3 is equal to 5.63 showing high sorptive characteristics and therefore no motility in the environment.

Based on the read across considerations same results can be applied to Stearamide DETA
