Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Seek medical advice if the person inhales large amounts of dust. Workers having respiratory diseases should not handle reactive dyes. If there are any compliaints in connection with handling reactive dyes such as shortness of breath or asthma seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water in order to avoid discolouring of the eye; if necessary seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash immediately with plenty of water and soap.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Drink plenty of water, if necessary with added activated charcoal. If the person feels unwell seek medical advice.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, fog, foam, dry extinguishing agent, CO2. There is no restriction. It is dependent on the extent of the fire and local surroundings.
Product arising from buring: H2O, COx, NOx, SOx, HF.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Protection suit and respirator (dependent on the extent of fire and the local surroundings).
Accidental release measures
Skin contact and inhalation of dust and dye solutions should be avoided while accidentially spilt material is collected. Label waste containers accordingly. Persons performing appropriate cleaning are advised to observe the protective measures prescribed for handling of the substance. In the event of spilling granulated product, dust generation is best avoided by covering with moistened inert material in order to avoid formation fo dust. Dye solutions should be taken up with an appropriate absorbing material. Use an approved industrial vacuum cleaner with an appropriate absorbing material. Waste containers should be marked appropriately and sent for disposal via a licenced waste contractor.
Handling and storage
Handling: Avoid formation of dust. Store seperate from food, tobacco and alcohol. Wear suitable protection clothes, gloves and goggles if skin or eye contact is possible. Change spolied clothes. It is recommended that users observe the measures mentioned in "Guidelines for the safe handling of dyestuff in colour storerooms" from ETAD.
Use local ventilation.Use personal protective equipment. If necessary wear dust mask suitable for prevention of dust exposure. Avoid skin contact.
Persons with chronic respiration diseases should not handle reactive dyes. If there are any complaints such as shortness of breath or asthma in connection with the handling of reactive dyes seek medical advice. Avoid any contact with the dye in such cases.
Storage: Store dry and at room temperature in tightly closed containers. Keep store rooms according to principles of good industrial hygiene. Close broken containers tightly. Avoid residues on/at containers.
Packaging of the substance and/or preparation: Cardboard boxes: (35kg)

Special provisions / remarks
- Remarks:
- Transport: Keep containers tightly closed and in a dry place. Packing drums must be kept carefully closed during in-company transportation in order to avoid spillage of the substance. Secure the containers against falling. Seek common transport measures like safegurd against falling, attention to stack height and the labelling of the containers. Label containers in accordance with the appropriate legislation.

Exposure controls / personal protection
The substance is not classified for hazardous effects, and as such, no hazards to either man or the environment are predicted. Standard risk management measures should be applied during use of the substance and products containing the substance. The following Risk Management Measures are therefore recommended to facilitate good hygiene standards:
- Local Exhust Ventilation, where available
- Hand protection, such as chemically resistant gloves e.g. PVC or nitrile ruuber (EN374)
- Protective clothing to EN368 standard are minimum
- Eye protection - safety glasses with side-shields (frame goggles) (e.g. EN166)
- Respiratory protection with 95% reduction of inhaled substance when handling material that may generate dust (e.g. EN149)
Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: No risks are assumed for handling the substance.
Chemical rection with water: Slow hydrolysis of the reaction component.
Dust explosion: The preprations are dust-poor granulates or liquid preparations. In the production process only solutions are used.
Dust explosion determined by test: N
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recycling of used dyes is not possible. Wash waters from the dye process is recycled to minimise loss of product.
Industry - Possibillity of neutralisation: Cose 631 - Neutralisation with acid-treatment.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controll discharge: Disposal is possible on seepage-proof waste disposal site in accordance with local regulations.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: incineration: Incineration of dry dyes is possible. Common waste gases arise during the incineration. Incineration should be undertaken in compliance with associated legislation.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: water purfication: Organic dyes are not biodegradable (aerob) because of the short retention time. A dispose by the waste water should not be recommended. Also an accumulation at the sewage sludge is possible. Wastes from sewage plant processing should be incinerated.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance is not available to the public at large if it is used as intended. Only products dyed with the substance are available to the public at large.
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Thecoloured products containing the substance only in little amounts could be disposed with the house wastee onto a licensed dispoal site or better by incineration.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: incineration: As above
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: water purification; Not applicable
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: others: Not applicable
