Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures
Never give fluids or induce vomiting if patient is unconscious or is having convulsions.
Inhalation:
Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, oxygen should be administered by qualified personnel. Call a
physician or transport to medical facilities for immediate medical advice.
Skin contact:
Immediate and continuous irrigation with running water for at least 15 minutes is imperative. Prompt medical consultation is essential. Seek
medical attention immediately.
Eye contact:
In case of contact, immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Seek medical
attention immediately. Wash clothing before reuse. Destroy contaminated shoes. Call a physician if irritation persists.
Ingestion:
If swallowed, rinse mouth and go immediately to hospital. Inducement of vomiting to be indicated only by a doctor.
Note to Physician:
Causes central nervous system depression. If burn is present, treat as any thermal burn, after decontamination. Treat symptomatically. No specific
antidote. Supportive care. Treatment based on judgement of the physician in response to reactions of the patient.
Fire-fighting measures
GENERAL HAZARD: The product is an extremely flammable liquid
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: To suit local surroundings (e.g. carbon dioxide, foam, chemical powder)
SPECIAL EXPOSURE HAZARDS: Decomposition products released in a fire (e.g., oxides of carbon) should be considered toxic if inhaled.
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and a chemical resistant suit.
Accidental release measures
METHODS FOR CLEANING UP: Remove all sources of ignition-NO SMOKING! Adhere to personal protective measures. Take up with absorbent material, e.g. sand, sawdust, using spark-proof equipment, into tightly closable containers. Label container and dispose of as prescribed.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS: Do not allow to get into waste water or waterways, if this occurs, inform the relevant water authority at once.
Handling and storage
Handle in accordance with good hygiene and safety practice. Remove all sources of ignition - No Smoking! Vapours may form explosive mixtures in
air-earth electrical equipment. Storage conditions: Ensure adequate ventilation of the storage area. Keep containers tightly closed, cool and dry.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Exposure controls: monitoring of the workplace should be considered in accordance with Community Exposure Limits (EH40 etc) or other data as indicated: LTEL (8 hour TWA): 5 ppm or 12 mg/cubic meter, ( WEL Eh40,2005);
Engineering Controls: Provide local exhaust ventilation. Take measures against build up of electrostatic charges.
Personal protection: Observe normal standards for handling carcinogenic substances. Do not breathe vapour. Avoid eye and skin contact. Wash thoroughly after handling (shower if necessary). Store working clothes separately. Do not eat, drink, or smoke in working area. Wear personal protective equipment appropriate to the task (See below).
Eye protection: safety goggles
Skin protection: PVC gloves
Respiratory protection: Respirator or air fed visor (if ventilation is insufficient).
Other protection: Protective overalls
Further information: Personal protective equipment should be selected as appropriate to the nature and aggressiveness of the identified hazard (s). It should be regularly inspected for such things as soundness against leaks, bad fitting and possible chemical penetration. Recommended safe user periods should never be exceeded.
Stability and reactivity
Stable under normal conditions of handling.
Thermal decomposition Data not supplied.
Conditions to avoid Data not supplied.
Material to avoid
The product is incompatible with acids, bases, oxidising agents, copper and copper alloys.
Disposal considerations
Advice on disposal
In accordance with national and local authority regulations, e.g.
hazardous waste or incineration.
Contaminated packaging
Treat empty containers in the same way as the product or if possible wash out thoroughly and
recycle.
