The test substance is stable in water, as demonstrated by analogy to the hydrolytically-stable 2 -phenoxy-1 -ethanol, and isconsistent with the lack of functional groups which are susceptible to hydrolysis. Upon release to the atmosphere the compound will react with phtochemically-generated hydroxyl radicals with an estimated half-life of 1.7 days (assuming 500,000 OH molecules/cm3 and 24 hr. photoday).
