TEST SITE
- Area of exposure: gauze patch size = 20 mm2
- Type of wrap if used: The test sites were covered with a gauze patch. Each animal was provided with a leather harness to prevent the animal from disturbing the sites.

SCORING SYSTEM:
After 24 h exposure, the harness and patches were removed and the skin reaction were evaluated; a second evaluation was performed 48 h after administration of the compound. The technique employed for determining the degree of the primary skin irritation was a modification of the Draize technique.

Executive summary:

In a primary dermal irritation study, albino rabbits (6 animals) were dermally exposed to 0.1 mL of cesium hydroxide (5%) in water. Animals then were observed for 48 hours. Irritation was scored by the method of Draize.
