Experimental data is available for a structural analogue of 6 -HNA, 3 -HNA. In a study with kilifish, the LC50 was above the highest test concentration of 82.2 mg/L. To verify whether 3 -HNA can be used as a surrogate for read-across purposes to 6 -HNA, two SAR estimations were conducted using Ecosar. The results clearly indicated a higher toxicity of 3 -HNA compared to 6 -HNA. Based on this, it is justified to use the toxicological data of 3 -HNA for read-across to 6 -HNA as they reflect a worst-case assumption.
